"The Beat Goes On" é uma experiência, concebida pelo produtor do Vanilla Fudge, Shadow Morton; e mais: não é apenas o álbum mais estranho da banda, mas um dos álbuns mais estranhos do rock dos anos 60.O disco relançado na decada de 90 em CD a banda pronuncia no encarte: " como uma falha experiência de seus produtores", o que parece Morton fez seu álbum conceitual próprio sem a participação significativa da banda.
